Tuesday “Bag Lunch” Book Study

Days/Times: Tuesdays 12:00pm-1:00pm, Fireside Room,

You are invited to join the Tuesday Bag Lunch Book Study. On April 14 we will begin discussing a book written by philosopher Michael Sandel titled, The Tyranny of Merit—Can We Find the Common Good? The book offers a critique of individualism, calls for rethinking the attitudes toward success and failure that have accompanied rising inequality, and makes a case for the move away from self to community, from ‘my wants now’ to ‘the common good’.

The group meets each Tuesday in the Fireside room from noon – 1:00pm, bringing your own bag lunch is optional. If you have questions please call Mike Rinke at 218-821-8082.

Expressions or Care Team
Age Range: Adults 21+

Care for others is expressed in many ways. Faith’s Expressions of Care ministry focuses on three meaningful acts of compassion: personal visitation, the distribution of Holy Communion to those in special circumstances, and anointing at the last. Through these sacred practices, we extend Christ’s love and presence to those in need.

If you would like to receive these services, please call Pastor Jim Demke at 605-370-2206. If you would like to join the team or have further questions, please contact Kay Clay, our volunteer coordinator, at 952-442-2725 (home) or 952-905-1942 (mobile).
