High School Ministry’s Boundary Waters Canoe Trip Calling all high school students! The BWCAW is a unique and pristine sanctuary, home to moose, black bear, loon, gorgeous lakes and waterfalls, and brilliant sunsets. This canoe trip will offer an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy the untouched wilderness and to live simply and intentionally as a community. Wilderness Canoe Base trips are incredible opportunities to explore the beauty of the BWCAW, to strengthen faith, to develop an appreciation of God’s creation, and to grow Christ-centered communities. With the direction of a WCB guide, you will spend a week paddling, portaging, and camping throughout the BWCAW, all while building deeper relationships with those on your trip. Why CAMP is great for Kids! If you’ve been to Bible camp you’re not surprised to hear about the benefits of summer camp.  But if you didn’t go to Bible camp as a child, you may not realize just how good the experience is for children.  You may not know why so many parents are committed to sending their kids to camp each summer. Mary Toufar, Children, Youth and Family Minister says, “My goal is to take more kids to camp in 2019 than any other summer.  I believe that every child should have a Bible Camp Experience and this is why:

  • Camp is action. At camp kids are unplugged from gadgets, instead they seek out the environment and their peers to create fun in a natural setting.
  • Camp promotes community. Each cabin group is a small group within the larger faith community. Campers learn about themselves by living with peers and guided by trained staff.
  • Camp creates future leaders. The camp experience offers kids a close-up look at compassionate leaders through the camp staff.  Not only that, kids get plenty of opportunities to be leaders themselves.
  • Camp helps conquer fears. Camp teaches kids how to be active participants, ask questions, ask for help, and try new things.
  • Bible Camp is an immersion into a lifestyle of discipleship. Camp counselors model what it looks like when scripture prayer and worship are wrapped in a whole lot of fun.”
This year Faith Lutheran kids (1st grade – 9th grade) have two choices.  Campers from Faith can invite their friends and be at camp either June 16-21 or July 21-26.

HALF BLAST – half a week camp S – T: 1st – 4th grade) at Shores of St. Andrew     ANDY’S GANG – a full week at camp (2nd – 5th grade) at Shores of St. Andrew     TRAILBLAZERS – a new program for 5th – 7th at Shores of St. Andrew     STARGAZERS – a stay up late & sleep in program for 7th – 9th grade at Green Lake
