  • If you receive Holy Communion in your home congregation you are welcome to receive Holy Communion at Faith Lutheran. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays and second and forth Wednesday at Prime Time worship.
At Faith Lutheran Church, we believe that the Lord’s Supper (also known as Holy Communion or the Eucharistic Meal) is a meal that Christ invites all the baptized to share. If you or your child has been baptized (even if you were baptized in a different Christian denomination), then you are welcome to receive communion. We invite parents to determine their child’s readiness to receive their 1st Communion.  Generally, parents choose to celebrate 1st Communion with their child between the 1st and 8th grade.
For children and youth who have not received their 1st Communion,we ask that both child and a parent attend a “First Communion” class prior to receiving communion for the first time. This class helps to instruct children on the significance of this holy meal and prepares them for receiving the sacrament. Those who attend a “First Communion” class are then invited to a special “First Communion” service during which each child will receive the Lord’s Supper for the first time. We offer this class two times a year, during Advent (November/December) and during Lent (March/April.)
If you are interested in registering your child for a “First Communion” class, or if you have questions about receiving communion here at Faith Lutheran Church, please call our church office (952-442-2101).
