First Communion Class
November 14, 2019 @ 6:30PM
1st – 8th grade (Parents discern when your child(ren) are ready)
First Communion will happen on Sunday, December 1st at 8:30 or 10:00am.
OR Wednesday, December 4th at 6:07pm during Prime Time Worship

To prepare children to receive Holy Communion for the first-time families are encouraged to attend a workshop. Parents and child(ren) participate together. Children and their parents make the decision when to enroll. Generally, children are ready for instruction when they start asking questions about their faith and Holy Communion. Children have been as young as 1st grade and as old as confirmation age, but generally the class ages ranges from about
3rd – 5th grade.

In keeping with baptismal promise . . . “to bring them to the word of God and the holy supper” Faith Lutheran partners with parents by offering a 1st Communion Class twice a year. Parents are encouraged to discern at what age your own children are ready to receive communion. The class is an introduction to Holy Communion designed for children and their parents. This fall it will be on November 14th. A class will be offered again in the spring. Children make their own clay communion cup and help bake the bread for their First Communion in worship.
