Tuesday “Bag Lunch” Book Study
Tuesday’s 12-1PM, Sonshine
Every Tuesday beginning January 21, we will meet at Faith in the Sonshine Room to discuss books that focus on personal transformation, deepening our spirituality and expanding our ideas about God’s presence in the world. Feel free to bring your lunch to this study.
Please join us in January as we begin reading Breathing Under Water by Fr. Richard Rohr. We are all addicted in some way. When we learn to identify our addiction, embrace our brokenness, and surrender to God, we begin to bring healing to ourselves and our world. In this book, Rohr shows how the gospel principles in the Twelve Steps can free anyone from any addiction—from an obvious dependence on alcohol or drugs to the more common but less visible addiction that we all have to sin. You can purchase the book through Amazon.

Leadership Huddle
Meeting the 2nd Sunday of the month after the 2nd service (11AM) in the Fireside Room Monthly beginning October 12th for 7 months.
$17 for hardcover book, “Dare to Lead” by Brené Brown  (Available for Purchase at Welcome Center & Church Office)
Do you lead a small group, team, or project in your workplace or here at church?  Join us for a monthly leadership huddle as we seek to improve our leadership skills and provide support and guidance for challenges we may face as leaders in our workplace or here at church. This fall we will read #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER, Brené Brown’s “Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts.”
Brené Brown has taught us what it means to dare greatly, rise strong, and brave the wilderness. Now, based on new research conducted with leaders, change makers, and culture shifters, she’s showing us how to put those ideas into practice so we can step up and lead.
When we dare to lead, we don’t pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don’t see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it with others. We don’t avoid difficult conversations and situations; we lean into vulnerability when it’s necessary to do good work. This book is for anyone who wants to step up and into brave leadership. Led by Richard Scott.
Art Enthusiast Small Group
First Saturday of the month @ 9:30AM-12PM
We will meet the first Saturday of the month in the Sonshine room. Remember to bring something to work on (you don’t need more than a piece of paper and a pencil!) One of our artists will demonstrate a technique, method or tip they have learned so we can learn from each other. Then you will have time to work on whatever you want; try out what you just learned, work on your latest masterpiece, get critiques from the other artists on how to improve your drawings. Ages 10 to 99 are welcomed.
October 14th 2019 – January 6th 2020, Mondays 6:30-8:00pm in the Sonshine Room
