Third Grade Bibles

At Holy Baptism, the parents and sponsors along with the whole congregation join in a partnership designed to provide each child of God with the experiences (as well as the education) so that they may grow in faith.   At the time of baptism a promise is made to “place in their hands the Holy Scriptures.”

In third grade young people experience a milestone along their journey of faith.   They are old enough now to read stories about God in their very own Bible.  In partnership with parents, Faith Lutheran offers the gift of a youth friendly Bible to students in third grade. The congregation presents the Bible to the parents and asks them to “place it in the hands” of their children. 

Parents and children are invited to attend worship together as a family.  The Bible is presented during worship.  In the days and weeks following the presentation parents along with their third graders are invited to attend a Bible exploration orientation, hopefully enlightening for children and parents alike. 

The Bible is our BOOK of FAITH!  God’s Word is life giving!
