Through Gates of Splendor” is a 1957 best selling book written by Elisabeth Elliot. The book tells the story of Operation Auca, an attempt by five American missionaries – Jim Elliot (the author’s husband), Pete Fleming, Ed McCully, Nate Saint, and Roger Youderian – to reach the Huaorani tribe of eastern Ecuador. All five of the men were killed by the tribe. The book is Elliot’s first book and arguably her most well known work.  Steven Curtis Chapman retells the story in music.

Sunday Night Men’s PM DVD/Book Study:

“Starting Point: The Series” by Andy Stanley

Age Range: Adult Men/Dads
Dates/Time: Sunday Nights at 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Beginning: September 30th

Purpose:  To help men make connections with one another and grow in their faith through this great 8-week DVD curriculum.  No prep!  Just show up as you are able!

DVD Description: Starting Point is an 8-session small group conversation about faith. Everything has a starting point-your life, your relationships, your education, your career. Sometimes we forget that faith has a starting point as well. For some of us, our faith journeys began in childhood as a set of beliefs handed to us by a parent, teacher, or pastor. Maybe you developed a framework of faith based on personal experience. Or maybe you had not faith at all. Too often, a faith formed in childhood isn’t strong enough to withstand the pressures of adult life. Come as you are and build relationships with others as you discover your starting point.
