Stewardship

2012 Pledge

Powerpoint Presentation from Sunday October 16th given by Ross Hanson

“You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:13a, 14-16

In the above scripture from Matthew,
Jesus is talking to each of us about how to live our lives. We are to be both spiritually pure and a beacon of light to the world that reflects the guiding light of Jesus. The theme for this year’s stewardship campaign is Salt of the Earth, Light of the World.

Let us take the time to examine our lives and invite God’s direction as we consider how we will give in response to the many blessings He has provided to us. This fall stewardship campaign is Faith’s process of encouraging each of us to be a bright light and to respond with an appropriate financial commitment to the general fund for the coming year.

The General Fund sustains those things what we care deeply about – our worship, our fellowship, our caring for each other and our neighbors, and our opportunities for learning along our faith journeys. This fund supports our operating budget which funds maintenance of our facilities, utilities, furnishings, compensates our pastors and staff, and enables strong and active ministries that engage our members in supporting our mission; to learn, serve and share the Gospel by growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ, one another and those beyond our walls.

Please note: this appeal is solely in support of our operating budget.
The Growing Faith Fund (also known as the Capital Campaign, Debt Reduction or Building Fund) is a separate pledge to pay our mortgage and reduce our building loan debt.

A Financial Commitment Card is enclosed with this letter. Please indicate on the card the amount you and/or your family intend to contribute to the General Fund in 2012.

Completed Commitment Cards can be processed in four ways:
• Place the card in the enclosed envelope and submit at church services on Commitment
Sunday (October 23rd)
• Mail the card to Faith using the enclosed envelope
• Bring to the church office (by October 23rd)
• Make your pledge on-line at www.waconiafaithlutheran.com. (New this year!)

Even if you are not able to make a pledge this year or are pledging the same amount as last year, everyone is encouraged to respond. This enables us to plan for 2012 accordingly.

“Each of you, as a good manager of God’s gifts, must use for the good of others the
special gift you have received from God.” - 1 Peter 4:10

God’s Blessings,
Faith Stewardship Ministry
