||Pastor Dale Peterson, Senior Pastor:
for your interest in Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Our Mission
statement is: “To Learn, Serve and Share the Gospel by growing
in our relationship with Jesus Christ, each other and those beyond our
walls.” We invite you to join us for one of our three weekly worship
services. We worship on Sunday mornings at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:30. Faith
is a Lutheran church proud of our Lutheran identity that tends to attract
individuals and families from a variety of church backgrounds. Over
1/3 of our membership grew up in churches other than the Lutheran church
or had no church background at all. We are open and accepting. We love
to meet new people. We offer quality Christian programming for all ages.
As Senior Pastor it is my privilege to lead a growing congregation of
wonderful members who share generously of their time, talents and financial
resources. We try to take good care of each other and are committed
to reaching out beyond our walls. At Faith Lutheran we are always trying
new things while maintaining traditions that are relevant and spiritually
helpful. If you are looking for a church to attend I hope you will check
us out. We are currently enjoying getting to know many families who
have recently moved into the Waconia area.

||Pastor Christine Ruth, Associate Pastor:
I am originally from Marshfield, Wisconsin, where I was ordained there at another Faith Lutheran Church in 2000. I served congregations in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Menomonie, Wisconsin, and Eden Prairie, Minnesota before accepting my recent call to Faith Lutheran in 2015. My husband, Greg, my son, Kellen, and my daughter, Adeline, all live with me in Chanhassen.
I received my BS in Social Work in Luther College in 1995, my M.Div. from Luther Seminary in 2000, and my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2012.
My passion in ministry is helping ordinary people discover their spiritual gifts and their unique spiritual-DNA – how God has uniquely wired them to love and serve their community. I believe that the world is desperately in need of people who have “come alive” and are living the “abundant life” Jesus talks about in John 10:10. I believe that we find our deepest sense of joy and meaning when loving and serving our neighbor in the way that fits best for us. I am committed to community outreach, healing marriages and families, and to preaching relevant sermons that are challenging and easily applicable to your life.
When I’m not at church, you can find me drinking cappuccinos at the Mocha Monkey, singing in community musical theater, reading Tolkien, doing Zumba, or canoeing in the Boundary Waters.
Pastor Christine Ruth
|God has formed me and my ministry by a long and patient molding of my life and my experiences. I am the daughter of a preacher. My dad was the first to plant the seed in me –“someday you will be a leader in the church.” I am the mother of five, the mother-in-law of four and the “NANA” of six. Family is very important to all of us.
Prior to moving to Waconia, my husband and I were camp directors at Luther Park Bible Camp in Chetek, WI for 23 years. Before that we were teachers in Prescott, WI and went to camp in the summer months. Before that we were both students and graduates of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with degrees in Education.
My favorite calling in life is that of a “disciple-maker”. This is a calling I can live out in my family, my community and my church. When working with young people I feel that it is very important for them to know that God’s calling in their lives begins NOW.
There are three verses from the Bible that help form my purpose statement.
Ms. Mary Toufar
- “Let the children come to me, and do not stop them because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” [Jesus] Matthew 19:14
- “Go . . . make disciples. Baptize them and teach them to obey me. . . Remember, I will be with you always.” [Jesus] Matthew 28:19-20
- Advice given to Timothy when he was feeling to young and unworthy – “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in live, in love in faith and in purity.” [Paul] 1 Timothy 4:12
