BE
A LIFESAVER THIS SUMMER BY DONATING BLOOD THROUGH
THE AMERICAN RED CROSS
~
Blood donations often decline during the summer due to donors
being on vacation or busy
with
summer activities, while the need for blood remains constant.
Approximately every two seconds a patient needs a blood transfusion
in the United States. This summer, the
American Red Cross reminds eligible individuals that no matter
what your summer schedule
has in store, you can be a lifesaver by donating blood. The
blood mobile will be held at
Faith Lutheran Church in the Gathering Space in the North
building,
on July 26, 12:30-6:30pm.
~ How to Donate Blood ~
Simply sign-up for an appointment located on the bulletin
board next to the nursery door or
call Mavis Flemig at 952.442.2896.
All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for
patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license, or
two other forms of identification are required
at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with
parental permission in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds
and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate
blood.
High school students and other donors 18 years of age and
younger also have to
meet certain height and weight requirements.
